Cutaneous ALCL - Causes

What causes primary cutaneous ALCL?
The cause of primary cutaneous ALCL is unknown. Unlike the more aggressive systemic ALCL, there is no evidence associating primary cutaneous ALCL with previous exposure to the Epstein-Barr virus or with a genetic mutation known as t2;5 translocation.

Will I "catch" or spread primary cutaneous ALCL?
No. There is no evidence that primary cutaneous ALCL can be "caught" from a patient. This is not an infectious condition.
